Paradise Rim/Turtle Wall

3 options of distance

2 options for trailhead

Details below ⤵️

BeaUTAHful trail! After a snowy day (realllly St George ❄️) we were crazy enough to go out and hike and the views were WORTH it!

This a very popular trail in the Red Cliffs Reserve Area. Popular for mountain biking, hiking, trail running, you name it. Expect a lot of people regardless of when you go. But it is an awesome hike!

I have 3 options for the hike. It all depends on how long you want to go and what you think you can handle.

Turtle Wall is really cool to climb and explore on (pic 7 is on the “neck” of the turtle). You can see the outline of it on option 3, and you can climb it on 1&2.

Option 1: Start at the trail head just off of SR-18 - drive on Bluff Street towards The Ledges, go over Snow Canyon Parkway and the trailhead is to your left. There’s a lot of parking and restrooms where the trail starts.

Starting on this trail will make the hike 3.8 miles. Great if you have a day to hike and have some time. Same great views and fun hike, just longer!

Option 2: Trailhead starts on 2086 N Cascade Canyon Drive. There’s no parking lot, so park on the street, but you’ll see the trail fenced up to where it actually starts. This trail is a loop and is 2.8 miles total. You get to see Turtle Wall and the top of Paradise Rim. This is the hike we did and loved it!

Option 3: Same trailhead as option 2, but is the shortest version of the hike. You can hike up to the rim lookout and come back the same way. This would be perfect for younger kids if you’re worried about them not being able to last for longer hikes.

Like I said, this hike is very popular! It’s one of my husbands favorite Mtn bike trails and there were lots of Mtn bikers that were out when we went. This trail is not shaded at all, and would be pretty hot when it’s warmer out.

It’s dog friendly too!

The views are amazing! We loved this hike!
