Baby Elephant Rock Hike
Do you see it? It’s a baby elephant! Not to be confused with Elephant Arch Hike (quite a bit longer of a hike), this is a super easy hike to do if you’re short on time or just want to get out and explore for a bit (it’s about 1/2 mile total). I have 3 maps kind of explaining where it is (added another updated one to my hiking highlights) but here’s the directions:
Take the Green Springs Exit off I-15 and turn west towards Green Springs. Take your first right on to Buena Vista Blvd. Turn left on Main Street. Turn right on Washington Parkway and you will see the drive off path just to your left (almost immediately after the intersection).
Option A: drive up to the small water tower and hike from there.
Option B: park your car at the bottom and follow the path up to the small water tower.
It’s pretty steep and best if you have a car thats able to off road a bit. Doing Option B will add about a mile or so to the hike.
It was beautiful up top and best at sunset (says my sister). The little “cove” extra part is a section you can have a fire pit too if you plan ahead! Such a pretty view of St George/Washington area! The Elephant catches you by surprise but is fun to see once you figure it out! Hint: look for the small arch at the bottom trunk to know you found it!
(Check my hiking highlights for a little bit better map of the trail)
