5 Less Busy Hikes to Do in STG


Still want to hike but hate the crowds? Try these 5 easier hikes to do that are relatively quiet!


1 - Owens Loop

Located next to Dixie Rock, can start at Dixie Rock or at Brooks Nature Park. Entire hike is 2.5 miles, we go <1 mile and play on the rocks and head back.




2 - Anasazi Valley Trail

So many cool petroglyphs! They’re about 1 mile up the trail and more to see if you continue on. Total hike can be 2-3.5 miles




3 - White Dome Biotic Trail & Lowland Trail

At the southern end of River Road, you can find these short simple hikes that are always so quiet! Look for some desert poppy while you’re there. The hikes are about 1 - 2.5 miles



4 - Temple Quarry Hike

2.5 miles round trip, this relatively fat trail is where the early developers brought rocks for the foundation of the St George Temple. Watch for desert tortoise while you’re out! Located by tech ridge.




5 - Sandstone Quarry Hike

1 mile total. Super easy, relaxing hike that takes you to another quarry spot used to bring sandstone into town. Located near the Dixie Red Hills Golf Course.
