This was such a fun hike and adventure for us! From St. George, it takes about 35 minutes to drive to the trailhead. We finished the entire hike in about 30 minutes. So it was a good 1.5hrs of quality time together! #win
Right now - it’s super muddy. There was quite a bit of snow in that area and on the dirt road, so a lot of it has turned into mud. I would expect it to be that way for another month or so, possibly longer if we keep getting the rain/snow like we have. However - we drove in our minivan and it made it just fine! You don’t need 4-wheel drive (at least we didn’t).
The trail is about .8 miles total. Short walk with cute signs about the plants on the trail, a fun bridge, and of course the Kiln.
From observing - there’s a fire pit in the kiln. It smelled of smoke and looked as if it was used the night before so I assume people use it often. It had great ventilation so maybe a fun place to have a fire?
I can’t find a lot of info about it other than it was a charcoal kiln, but it was really fun to see!
Have you been? What did you think of it? It was awesome for a fun afternoon after school. We enjoyed it!
There’s no restrooms on-site, no trash cans, but there is a picnic bench along the trail. Hope you guys enjoy it too!
